We welcomed the challenge of working long distance so our clients could come home to their dream kitchen in the Portland neighborhood of Hosford-Abernethy. By working through several concepts with our clients, we were able to provide solutions to every concern including designing a generous kitchen island they thought was not possible.
CHALLENGE
Needed more square footage
Wanted to create open floor plan and increased headroom
Outdated cabinets
Clients wanted design to reflect their love of wine
Solution
To provide more space overall, we removed a load bearing wall and raised the ceiling height. We also used our finest custom cabinetry we knew our client (an avid woodworker) would appreciate. Then we installed custom wine racks on either side of a dedicated wine bar. For more storage, we added a glass front wine fridge with temperature controlled zones.
