Having worked with dozens of Portland area homeowners to install nearly every type of countertop imaginable, we’re well-versed in the different options and how they compare to one another.

Good: Laminate & Solid Surface

When considering cost-effective options for kitchen or bathroom countertops, laminate and solid surface materials are among the most practical choices. Both offer benefits that cater to budget-friendly projects without compromising on style and basic functionality.

Laminate Countertops

Laminate countertops are made from layers of plastic bonded to a particleboard (MDF) core. They are popular for their wide range of colors and patterns, many of which mimic more expensive materials like natural stone.

Advantages of Laminate
