Project Goals

This Portland kitchen remodel tackled a space that failed to meet current building codes and lacked essential modern features like a dishwasher and proper ventilation. While maintaining the original footprint to preserve the home’s historic character, the team focused on strategic improvements to enhance functionality and comfort.

The renovation began with fundamental upgrades, including wall reinforcement and improved insulation for the century-old structure. Practical improvements included raising counter heights, installing new Knight Cabinetry storage solutions, and adding eco-friendly Marmoleum flooring.
