Camas Minimalist Bathroom Remodel

Transforming a Standard 8×5 Bathroom For a Family’s growing Kids

These homeowners in Camas wanted to remodel the bathroom that their teenage twin sons shared. With the family being involved in various sports, this 8’x5′ bathroom would see frequent use — up to six showers per day in some cases. For this reason, it was important to them that the bathroom was stylish and could hold up to the constant use.

What Were the Goals of This Remodel?

When they came to Lamont Bros. to transform this bathroom, these Camas homeowners owners had a few goals in mind.

Minimalist Aesthetic – Having recently returned from a cruise, the family was inspired by some of the minimalist aesthetics from their accommodations. Specifically, they wanted something simple, modern, and with a trendy color palette.

No Layout Changes – To ensure that the project stayed within the owner’s budget, we decided early on not to change the layout of the space. This meant we could focus more on selecting features and finishes that aligned with their vision.

Ease of Maintenance – With the frequent use this bathroom would see, it was important that the space be easy to clean. Both the floorplan and the material choices would be major factors to consider to achieve this goal.

How Did We Solve These Issues in Design?

To achieve the style and functionality that the homeowners wanted for this bathroom, we spent a lot of time curating specific products and features

that directly solved the issues they were facing. Here are a few of the specific features that worked to make a tremendous difference in the design of this space.

  1. Prefabricated Vanity by James Martin – This stylish vanity offered our clients the perfect blend of budget and aesthetics. The textured surfaces and wall-mounted design perfectly fit their vision for the space. Meanwhile, the ability to have it shipped from the manufacturer rather than custom made helped us cut down on lead times.
  2. WetWall Shower Wall Panels – To further achieve the minimalist aesthetic while also keeping the bathroom easy to clean, we went with a WetWall shower. These waterproof panels can be installed easily into a shower space and have no grout lines, making cleaning a breeze.
  3. Pergo Luxury Vinyl Tile Flooring — The homeowners wanted the look of tile for the flooring, but didn’t want to pay the high cost of installation. The solution was a varied-width vinyl tile flooring. This waterproof material is great for bathrooms where the look of tile is desired without the installation costs or maintenance of grout.
  4. Silestone Quartz Countertops in “Posidonia Green” — To add a splash of unique color to the space, the owners chose a quartz composite countertop in a muted seafoam green color, a callback to the marine aesthetic aboard their cruse that inspired this project.

How Did This Project Change The Client’s Life?

Now that their bathroom is complete, this family can rest assured knowing their twins have a bathroom that will suit their needs. Beyond that, it’s a space that brings a stylistic flair and adds value to their home.
