Lake Grove Dual Bathroom Remodel

AGING-IN-PLACE BATHROOM SOLUTIONS FOR THIS FOREVER HOME

The original bathrooms in this Lake Grove condominium presented several challenges for the owner. Knowing that she wanted to live here for the rest of her life, she decided to invest in remodeling the bathrooms to better fit her needs as she aged. The homeowner partnered with Lamont Bros. Design & Construction to make her two bathrooms more accessible for aging in place while updating their style. (Read more…)

The original bathrooms presented several challenges: the primary bathroom was too small with an awkward door swing, while the guest bathroom had a dangerous cabinet bench around the shower and tub.

To improve the primary bathroom, we removed the 45-degree wall and installed a 90-degree corner with a pocket door. We added a blue glass mosaic tile shower with a low-profile pan and installed a wall-mounted toilet for easier cleaning.

In the guest bathroom, we replaced the tub-shower combo with a walk-in shower featuring custom hex tile flooring. We added grab bars and a wall-mounted toilet, and removed the hazardous cabinet bench.

Both bathrooms received new vanity cabinets with vessel sinks and waterproof vinyl composite flooring from Evoke. The modern finishes match the owner’s contemporary style preferences.

The renovation successfully created two safe, accessible spaces that combine practical aging-in-place features with sophisticated design, ensuring long-term usability for the homeowner.
